Manufacturing Engineer Requisition ID: xxxx Location: US - Ventura, CA Employment Duration: Regular EE Full Time Description SUMMARY The Manufacturing Engineer transitions products from engineering to manufacturing, and maintains product support throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This position ensures successful manufacturing implementation and support, with tooling design, procedural specification, product testing, production analysis, quality and reliability based testing, design, and support. The Manufacturing Engineer position is within the Engineering Department with tasks assigned by the Engineering Department, though close coordination and cooperation with the Manufacturing Department is required. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop process techniques, travelers and detailed assembly instructions for the manufacturing of electro-optical components and cores, such as laser rangefinders. * Specify and/or design tooling and assembly techniques for the production floor. * Support as required, all aspects of the production process flow, from raw materials to final shipping. * Continuously improve efficiencies of the overall manufacturing process though newly developed techniques, input from assembly personnel, or Mfg team input. * Define/Develop production equipment for low and high volume manufacturing cells. * Assist with troubleshooting of process problems in manufacturing and incorporate appropriate changes to the production cycle. * Generate rework instructions for discrepant material. * Support Supplier Development. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS * Minimum BS in EE/CS/ME or equivalent * At least 2 years experience with increasing responsibilities, including direct experience in multiple areas of manufacturing operations * Low volume electronic and mechanical assembly techniques. * Computer Knowledge and Skills– Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & FileMaker Pro * Basic knowledge of high volume manufacturing techniques desired. * Proficiency in SolidWorks and other CAD and modeling software desired * Strengths in electrical engineering, mechanical systems and Windows OS computing tools; experience with optics and optical systems a plus. * Must be able to communicate orally and in writing using the English language. * US Citizen or valid Permanent Resident (“Green Card”) status required.
